Clingy 16 Month Old

She has been clingy for a while but it is very depressing when she won't even go to her grandma. She is fine with my husbands parents, but she will still reach for me sometimes when they are holding her. Then if I step out of the room she freaks. When she is with my mom she reaches for me and freaks if I step out of the room. Will this phase pass and when?? What can I do to make this easier on her and our parents. They get really depressed that she is like this with them. They would love for her to run up to them and give them a great big hug... Please help!!

Oh believe she will someday!! She will run up to them and call for them. Its just she is going through a clingy phase. My dd went through it so I know its TORTURE! Just keep having her see her grandparents as much as possible and dont pressure her. I know it seems like it will be like this forever but in 6 months you will look back and say "i cant believe she was like that!" I promise!!!

I'm with you on that jwhite. My dd is 14 mos and is so clingy. She is ok with my parents and in-laws (not at first though). Once I'm out of the house she's ok, but with anyone else she freaks. Especially my husbands sister, she cries everytime she see's her, I feel bad. I know its a phase, but it just stinks, plus dd is starting daycare in January. I hope it pa__ses before then.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the only reason she is good with my parents and in-laws is b/c they babysit her during the week, so she is most familiar with them, otherwise its like "ma, ma" all the time.
