OK..I don't know what to do. My 20 month old dd has been waking up early for about 2 weeks now. She usually wakes between 5am and 6am. I can handle 6am...but 5 is just too early. She goes to bed at 7:30 every night. And when she wakes up she is crying...never happy. I have tried letting her CIO but she screams bloody murder and throws paci and stuffed bunny out of crib. We have nothing new going on in our house. Please help.

You might want to try putting her to bed a little later. She may not require as much sleep as before. My suggestion is to get rid of the pacifier. She is almost 2. It could hinder with her teeth.

I agree 7:30 sounds too early. They start needing less sleep at night when they get a little older. If we put dd down too early, she wakes up at 4:00 a.m. ready to go for the day.

too early! My 20 month old goes down around 8:30 - 9pm and gets up like clockwork at 6 or 6:30am.

Thank you for your advise! I was always dreaded a later bedtime because I enjoy my quiet time at night!

I hear you about quiet time at night, its nice to have. Maybe just moving bedtime back to 8pm would help. Also in the late afternoon early evening make sure she plays alot and gets really tired.

also how long does she nap during the day? that might be a problem too, if it's too long. my ds is 17.5 months and he is also clock work. he wakes between 6:30-7:00am naps at 12:30 for min 1hr 15min - 2hr and is in bed at 8pm. they say 13 hrs total for a child this age.

or also i should of added, she could be OT and that is why she is waking early and crying. my ds wakes a lot earlier when he is OT.

You are putting her to sleep way to early. I put my son to sleep at 8:30-9 and he sleeps till 7. If I put him to bed at 7:30 he is up and ready to run at 6! So.... Try and drag the time bit longer at night.
