my ds is 3.75yo and doesn't seem to want to sleep past FIVE am!!! i can put him down early at night or really late and it will maybe make a difference of a half an hour, but thats it and since its not making a difference either way, i usually put him down between 6 & 7... i have a newborn who sleeps MUCH better then he is these days!!! AND when he wakes, he comes into our room and wants to climb into bed w/ us, but the only prob w/ that is he WAKES us rather then going back to sleep - climbs under the covers, calls our names, wants tv - and i don't think that is acceptable SO early in the morning... i put him in his room w/ ALL of his toys, vsmile games, coloring books, BOOKS - NOTHING helps!!! does anyone have any suggestions as i am going insane, not to mention that i am physically exhausted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and what is going to happen when we change the clocks back??? :(

I know what you mean the little girl i watch has been the same way, I actually tried turning a fan on low but pointing it away from her and covering her window with darker shades or even a blanket, the fan drowned out a lot of the noise and the blanket has darkened the room, she's now sleeping til 7-730 when i put her to bed early, but when its later she sleeps til about 9! yay! but try that and let me know how it works =]

At his age, you could also try getting him and alarm clock and tell him that when he wakes up, he has to play in his room until the music turns on. I've heard of this working for a lot of people.
