Responding To Name

Hi ladies! I am hoping you can give me a little reassurance. I have a lo who just turned 10 months old. He seems to be making all of his milestones. He's crawling, pulling up, cruising, clapping and babbles all day long. My concern is that he still doesn't respond to his name that well. How often should he be responding to his name at 10 months? I asked the babysitter about it...and she said he does for her...but sometimes she has to say it a couple times before he looks. He will for me some, but it's mostly in the morning when I walk into the room and say something. Is it normal to do this at this age? I guess did you have a LO that did the same thing and things turned out okay? He recently had tubes put in about 10 days ago. He's had constant ear infections. Is there anything I can do to make him respond more frequently?

Try to reduce other noise in the house, like the television, radio or whatever else. Sometimes the background noise makes it hard for LO's to focus. Otherwise if his hearing is still fine, I would say he is just ignoring you.
