my 13 1/2 month old suddenly had diarrhea last night, it was the worst i have ever seen, it happened twice last night and 3 times this morning, he just got over a cold, he is not on any meds, and he has not had any new foods, no fever and he is acting normally... although he has been waking up crying and he is teething, he already has 2 molars and another on its way, could that cause severe diarrhea with virtually no other symptoms??? anyone else have this happen to thier lo???

Yes, they can have diarrhea when teething. Go get him pedialyte to replace the fluids and electrolytes he is losing. If it persists more than a couple of days then I am sure your pediatrician would like to know, just in case there is something else going on. Chances are it is just the teething, as long as he is well otherwise.

I agree, teething can cause diarrhea. Just make sure he is drinking enough or get some pedialyte for him. If it last more than 2 or 3 days or gets constant I would have him seen.

My ds1 had diarrhea SO bad when he was getting his molars in. All four came in the same time. He had yellow diarrhea for about 3 days but ate and drank fine. It was really bad...We had to clean his back and his feet with every changing.

Teething! Same thing happened at same age with my DS.. Get some pedialyte and get him on the BRAT Diet -- Bananas, Rice, Apples, Toast. My ped told me to switch to soy milk until it pa__sed as diary makes it worse... my DS had it for about 2 weeks.

yes - stay away from dairy when they have diarrhea...and keep them in fluids. The dr told us that it was ok if they didn't eat much as long as they were keeping fluids down. It sucks, but it will pa__s. they have pediapops too - like popsicles - that might be easier to get in your kids. My dd didn't like the straight pedialyte.
