Hi moms, My son is 29 months and I just beginning to think about potty training him.My question is what is a good potty to use.The ones you just put on the toilet or the ones on the floor.Ones that are cushiony or just plastic? Thanks:)

My girls aren't ready yet but I was like a second mother to my youngest sister and she had a little potty and it worked well for her. I would think a hard seat is better because its an easier transition later on. Plus adult soft seats are known to be good for bacteria growing. Little seats seem to be better because the little toddlers can access them by themselves. I'll bet it feels like more of an accomplishment when he goes by himself for the first time.

My dd hated the potty and much prefers the toilet seat with the steps, but we only have the one bathroom so she accepts that she has to use the potty when one of us is in the toilet or when dad's in the shower.

Hey DamiensMom. I am wondering this also. My son is 2 and we are thinking about starting next month. Today, I was shopping around for a potty chair for him. I didnt get one yet. I wanted to go online and read some reviews, to see what potty chairs are more popular. Im not sure which would work best, a potty chair or the toilet. IMO, I would think a potty chair. Much easier to access and easier to sit on without any help, and you can even bring it on road trips. We are planning to try the potty chair first, if that fails then the toilet. Oh, I would say use the plastic seats vs the softs ones. What they dont know, they dont miss...lol
