Cost Of IVF

I know that not all of you pregnant with multiples used IVF but for the ones who did do IVF and your insurance didnt cover it how did you raise the money to do it? I am 29 and I just found out about 3 weeks ago that I am having my 2nd ectopic (tubal) pregnancy and we did IUI's with clomid days 3-7 and gonal f starting on day 8. We saw the sac in the tube on the ultrasound a few weeks ago and I had to get 2 shots of methotrexate to terminate the pregnancy and the doc said that I would have to do IVF because after having 2 tubal pregnancies in a row he wasnt comfortable with doing IUI's anymore. So my question is for those like me who dont have insurance that covers IVF and with them telling me that it would cost between 9000-12000.00 is there anything that you did extra to earn the money to do IVF with? Have any of you tried those envelope stuffing things that you see on T.V.? If so did you make any money doing it? I am trying to think of ways to earn extra money so that I can save up for IVF so any information that you could give me would be helpful. I hope that I am not offending anyone with this post because that was not my intentions and I do realize that not everyone having multiples went through IVF. Thanks in advance for any info that you can give me.

Am I the only one who is having to pay for everything out of pocket?

I'm not sure how many of the moms on this board at the moment actually did IVF. We did IUI and had to pay for everything out of pocket (all fertility testing and IUI procedures, ultrasounds, etc) , our babies just turned 1 and we just finished paying everything off.

FREEBIRD- thanks for your reply. I did IUI's with clomid for a year and the last cycle i used gonal f injections and clomid and I probably spent about 15,000.00 on IUI's and on terminating the 2 tubal pregnancies. I have everything already paid off right now and was just looking for ways of earning extra money to help with the cost of IVF. We have to have all that money up front and cant pay it out like we did with the IUI's. I have insurance but it doesnt cover IVF or any fertility treatments but it does cover maternity if I get pregnant. This fertility stuff can get so expensive. I set up a savings account that I call my baby funds..lol..I put money in it to save up for fertility treatments and when I get enough to do IVF then I will start. It just doesnt seem like the money is getting in there fast enough..lol. Thanks again for your reply I really appreciate it.
