i had a doc appointment today and my level was 30,000 and I'm only 6 weeks, so i was wondering if this means i'm having twins.? My doctor scheduled me a ultra sound next week. Last week my level was at 10,000.

I had a level of 43,000 at 5 weeks, 2 days. No one said anything but that I was continuing with a healthy pregnancy and the numbers were VERY good. My U/s last Friday showed one baby...but I wonder if ones is hiding behind the other... ? anyway... I'm seeing the doc this Friday for my first prenatal visit and I'm going to ask him about it. I think they'll be testing my levels again anyway.

Newlywed........Is that possible? Can one baby be hiding behind the other this early? The reason I am asking is because I am in the same boat as you, LOL. My hCG at 5wk6days was 49,100. Progesterone was 21.9 but u/s on 6wk2days showed one baby, one heartbeat! Has anyone else had a story with only one baby showing up, then #2 showed up later? I have another u/s scheduled in 2 days...... beana.....sometimes, I think our bodies do crazy things without explanation, LOL - Good Luck on you u/s, let us know what you find out!

The doc told me that they don't really care about the HCG levels being high. I've read that its possible that a second baby can be hiding behind the other...especially if they're identicals... in the same sac. I still feel like I might have twins... we're going to hear the heartbeat this Friday, so maybe then we might hear two!... lol we'll see. If not, I guess this baby is just really really healthy! I have a friend who recently didn't find out she was having twins until she was at her 20 week sonogram! Identical girls!
