How much did you guys eat while pregnant with twins? Thank you twins4us for your answer Im just a little scared because i have not felt them yet. Im trying to eat at least 5 to 6 times a day. Does that sound about right?

I needed to eat small meals through out the day at least 5-6 times per day. I had very bad sickness and if I didn't eat It got really bad. Now I don't have much space in my stomach so I need to eat small meals throughout the day. I say I eat about 4-5 times per day now and I'm 32 weeks.

READ THIS BOOK... "when you are expecting twins, triplets or quads" This book is an excellent resource for multiples. A friend who was preg w/ twins gave it to me, then I gave it to another friend who was having twins... it really is a great book and it will give you better guidelines than most doctors do. I gained 70 pounds with my twin (that was over half my starting weight by the way) and my twins were born a little early but very healthy & big considering how preterm they were. It took me 8 months to lose the weight but it was worth it so don't stress out about how much you eat. Chances are... if you are eating whenever you are hungry... you are probably getting enough!

I agree with sphinx - that book is great! It really talks about gaining a good amount of weight early on, because as mrssolo stated, your tummy gets squished later on and it's hard to eat a lot. Your body will need these "excess reserves" so to speak to help nourish the babies. Proper weight gain, hydration, and adequate rest is the forumula this book uses to promote a healhty twin pregnancy. I have bought 4 books on twin pregnancy and find myself reading this one over and over. Good luck! You can find the book on amazon or at local book stores.
