I just had my follow-up ultrasound and they said the other 2 had reabsorbed back into the body. She really didn't give me an explanation other than there are just gone now. The one is still there but now I am a little worried.

I'm sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, this is very common with multiple pregnancies to end with VTS (vanishing twin syndrome) during the first trimester. There is an almost 30% chance for it to happen with multiples conceived naturally and 50% chance for multiples that are conceived through drugs that cause ovarian stimulation. Just know that most multiple pregnancies that do suffer from VTS end up where the surviving fetus is left to thrive without further complications.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure your little embryo will make it. How far along are you? Did they see the heartbeat?

I'm sorry to hear about your two babies. The same thing had happened to a friend of mine. She was PG with triplets at 7 weeks...then with 2 at 9 weeks...then they found one on u/s at 11 weeks. She delivered him full term and he is healthy and beautiful. Good luck to you. Warmly, KitCat

I am sorry for you loss. I lost one twin to vanishing twin at my followup ulta-sound. I was told however, that although the risk to the remaining twin is higher than in a reg. singleton pregnancy, that it is not significantly higher. And it drops after the 1st trimester as well, so there is still hope. I've found that it helps to focus on the little one I still carry. I look at my ultra-sound pictures and although I will always be sad & grieve for my loss, I take some comfort in knowing I am still blessed with a child. You'll be in my thoughts. Good luck to you.

Thank you all for your support they told me it was not uncommon. I did have some spotting but everything was ok I went for an u's yesterday and got to see the baby and hear the little heart beat for the first time. So everything is going good I am now about 6 1/2 weeks along still a long ways to go.
